One thing that Atlassian’s Jira does not allow is the posting of tasks to multiple recipients. So the below is a snippet that shows how to create and post JiraJelly scripts using cURL within PHP.

Note, on the calling page I used ldap_connect to query our AD database for a list of users. A little html and jQuery allowed the user to select the required users from the list, and input the required fields for the Jira task.

I then use some basic PHP to create some XML in the form of:

<JiraJelly xmlns:jira='jelly:com.atlassian.jira.jelly.JiraTagLib'>
    <jira:CreateIssue
        project-key='<project key>'
        assignee='<assignee>'
        priority='<priority>';
        summary='<summary>'
        reporter='<reporter>'
        description='<some description>'>
    </jira:CreateIssue>
</JiraJelly>

Next, the cURL:

$username='<user>';
$password='<password>';
$base_url= "http://<your Jira server>/jira/secure/
    admin/util/JellyRunner.jspa";
$params="os_username=$username&os_password=
    $password&Run=Run&filename=&
    script=" . urlencode($<your XML string>);

$curl = curl_init();
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER,array('
    X-Atlassian-Token: no-check'));
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, false );
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, true );
curl_setopt($curl,CURLOPT_URL, "$base_url?$params");
curl_exec($curl);
curl_close($curl);

Now all you need is to fill in the variables and you’re up and running.

Hope this helps someone out there!

So those who know me are aware that I don’t get home much. I’m fairly busy and often at my girlfriend’s place, so when I do get home it’s only for a short period of time.

Anyways back a few months ago I was lucky enough to get a couple of fines; 1 for parking in a visitor carpark at work, and the other for a speed camera, 10km/h over the limit on the way to Sydney. No worries.

Now, when it comes to paying bills, I’m a little slack. It’s not that I can’t afford them, I just really couldn’t be bothered. So yes, I’ll admit I paid the parking fine a little late (mainly due to forgetting about it), and I paid the speeding fine a little late also, due to not checking my mail pile when I was at home.

So it’s been a while since I’ve been home long enough to check mail etc. I popped in on Saturday and decided to start opening some letters. To my surprise, there was not not 1 or 2, but 4 letters from the State Debt Recovery Office (SRDO) and a few from the NSW RTA.

Here’s what has happened:

I paid both my fines after the due date, so for each of these they slugged me $50. I was sent 2 letters regarding these NEW fines, which I obviously didn’t pay. So for each $50 fine, I was slugged with another $40 fine. Lucky me! Then, the best part is, after not paying the outstanding $90 for the first fine, they decided to suspend my drivers license. And, after not paying the other outstanding $90 for the second fine, they decided to suspend my car registration!

So, for the 2 fines that I had already paid and forgotten about, I now owe $180, and have been driving around unlicensed and unregistered for the past few days.

Awesome.

I started swimming once or twice every day with 5 weeks out, however after spending the last week in far North Queensland responding to cyclone Yasi, I feel as though I’m back to square one. Will recommence swimming every day during lunch, and some days after work if I get the chance.

Hi,

I have entered the 2011 Wollongong 24 Hour Mega Swim and I have committed to fundraise $500.00 in support of those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

Did you know?

- The average diagnosis of MS is 30 years old.
- 3 times more women than men are affected by MS.
- An estimated 20,000 people in Australia have MS.

Please take a moment to view my online fundraising page and help me reach my fundraising goal. It is easy and will take no time at all, just donate online via your credit card by clicking on the link below:

http://events.megaswim.com/?Jared

All information is secure and all donations will be sent electronically to Multiple Sclerosis Limited. A tax deductible receipt will be sent to your inbox once the donation is verified.

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system affecting more young adult Australians than any other neurological condition. Your donation will go towards MS Australia”s “Go for Gold” scholarship program.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jared.

Note: Before reading this, see edit at bottom!

It has been roughly 6 months since I purchased my WRX, and probably 5 months since I started having difficulties starting it when warm. What started out as a freak problem has been getting progressively worse until I finally decided to do something about it.

Basically, once the car had been warmed up I often had issues starting. The starter motor was kicking over fine, and the car would start, however after a couple of second would choke to a stop. Sometimes not wanting to start again for 10-20 minutes (or until the engine had cooled enough). Very frustrating when in a rush.

I have read about many occurrences of this happening on forums. Some fixed the issue by cleaning the crank sensor or water temperature sensor, but many to report back to share what had fixed the issue. Neither of these solutions had helped me.

I then stumbled upon the NASIOC forum which hosted a thread explaining how to clean the IACV (Idle Air Controller Valve). This valve controlled the idle of the car for the different engine / coolant temperatures. As suggested I purchased a replacement gasket for the IACV ($12.45 from Tynan Subaru in Wollongong, but much much much cheaper online), some replacement hex bolts ($2.35 at Bunnings) and a can of degreaser from Supercheap Auto (~$1.50).

Following the instructions, I carefully opened up the IACV, and cleaned it with the degreaser. There was a considerable amount of crap built up inside which came out fairly easily with a gentle rub from some cotton tips. I let it all dry out, and followed the seating instructions from within the thread.

The whole process took roughly an hour, and my car now starts perfectly every time! All for less than $20.

Anyways the thread is located here for those who are interested!

Also, as mentioned on NASIOC you may have difficulties getting the soft screws out without stripping the heads. I had success with the top screw by helping the rotation with a pair of pliers, and the bottom came out with a big flat head screw driver.

Hope this helps!

edit: Okie dokie, well I’ve been meaning to get back and update this. Turns out that my problem is NOT fixed

Tonight I am going to follow the instructions posted HERE and clean the AFM / MAF sensor.

Will report back tonight / tomorrow.

With our recent switch to daylight savings time here in NSW Australia, most of the computers on the domain updated with no issues at all. 2 Windows XP machines however decided they didn’t want to play nice.

After playing around with ‘net time’ and ‘w32tm’ for a couple of hours I got nowhere. Both were still syncronised with the same ntp server as the rest of the domain, and both were completely up to date with regards to windows updates. Despite this, the time was still coming through incorrectly.

I searched many forums and after finding thousands of issues not related, I stumbled upon a Microsoft patch that had somehow been skipped in the update process, KB979306. I downloaded it and ran the patch on the offending machines, and immediately the clocks updated and showed the correct time!

If you are experiencing something similar, the patch is located at the following location:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979306

Hope this helps!
